Arthur was the son of George & Caroline Carter of the High Street, Walkern.

Wartime Service

At the time of his death the Battalion were in the frontline at Forceville. However, Arthur is believed to have died as a result of disease rather than combat injuries.

Additional Information

www.stevenageatwar.com His brother Reginald died in Germany whilst a Prisoner of War. Arthur is buried in the Peronne Communal Cemetery Extension, St.Radegonde, France.
