Born in 1891 in Mount Street, Great Amwell, Herts. son of Henry and Rosabel Chapman, and christened on 19 Oct 1891 in Great Amwell. Later living in 2, Amwell Terrace, Ware, Herts.
He was living as a boarder in Mount Street, Ware working as a packing maker for ships in 1911.
Wartime Service
Enlisted at Ware formerly 9628 R.A.M.C. and was transferred to the 1/7 Battalion, Middlesex Regiment and he died as a result of wounds to his stomach at 3 Casualty Clearing Station, France
His parents were notified of his death at 2 Amwell Terrace, Ware.
Additional Information
Albert was the third sone to enlist, one of whom was a POW in Westphalia.
