Pre War

Reginald was born in Haultwich near Little Munden the son of Henry & Mary Chappell. The family later lived at "Glencoe," 29 Pondcroft Road in Knebworth.


Enlisted in the Royal Marine Artillery on the 10/08/1908 at the age of 17. Served continuously with the RMA until his death. 

Wartime Service

He was wounded at Ypres on the 22nd May 1915 and died from complications to his wounds at Haslar Naval Hospital, Portsmouth and is buried in St.Martin’s churchyard, Knebworth.
