Pre War

Born on 20 Apr 1894 in Rye Park, Herts. son of James Reid and Jessie (Brown) Christie and baptised in Hoddesdon on 1 Jul 1894. He was living in Great Amwell in 1901 and later in New River Well, Amwell Marsh, Ware, Herts. Where he was living when he enlisted in Hertford.

Wartime Service

In Jul 1916 the battalion was in the front line trenches of the Somme east of Albert close to Contalmaison. There were two large casualty clearing stations at Puchevillers where he presumably died of wounds.
