Born on 29 Mar 1889 in Buenos Aires, Argentina son of Henry Charles and Florence Elizabeth (Plews) Thompson. Educated at Haileybury College 1903-06.

Wartime Service

Joined the Royal Naval Air Service as Flight Sub-Lieutenant on 7 Aug 1915 and achieved his flying certificate on 19 Dec 1915 at Royal Naval Air Station, Chingford and promoted to Flight Lieutenant (Royal Flying Corps, Naval Wing) on 1 Apr 1917. He was killed in an aeroplane accident in Greece.
