Additional Information

*1 The St Albans Cathedral Diocese records record an Alfred Smith with a connection to Chorleywood who was Private in the Hampshire Regiment, however we have not been able to identify this man. We have identified an ‘Arnold Bradley Wood was a Private in the Hampshire Regiment and he lived in Chorleywood’. So, while we are not certain, we think that the reference to Alfred Smith may be incorrect and we have assumed this to be the man intended to be commemorated in the Diocese records.
