Pre War

Born on 25 Sep 1892 in Forest Gate, Essex son of Arthur and Emily Edith Crow later of Woodford Green, Essex. Educated at Haileybury College 1906-10. He became a law student.

Wartime Service

Enlisted in Romford Artists' Rifles in Aug 1914. Obtained a commission in the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment but resigned his Captaincy because ill-health in Jul 1916. Finding on recovery that he could not regain his former rank without abandoning foreign service, he thereupon re-enlisted as a Private. He was killed in action.
