Born on 22 Jan 1897 in Erith, Kent son of Albert and Annie Rebecca Smith later of 4 Croft Road, Ware and was living in Wilstone Village, Tring in 1901 and 98 Watton Road, Ware in 1911. He was a baker’s assistant.

Wartime Service

Enlisted as a Boy on 18 Jul 1912 and became an Ordinary Seaman on 22 Jan 1915 and died at home of meningitis.

Additional Information

Son of Private Albert Edward Smith who died on 9 May 1915 and is also commemorated on these memorials and on the same gravestone.
