Born on 31 Aug 1892 and baptised on 17 Nov 1892 in Wimborne, Dorset son of Dr. Kilcoursie Jocelyn and Maude Ella (Green) Courtenay of Wareham, Dorset. Educated at Haileybury College 1905-09.

Wartime Service

Formerly Private in the Royal Fusiliers he was gazetted 2nd Lieutenant on 25 Jun 1915 Killed in action on the Somme. His body was miraculously found by his mother on the battlefield 14 months later and was buried at Bouchoir. (Recorded on church plaque).
