Born on 28 Dec 1879 in London son of Arthur Matheson and Mary (Gordon) Fraser of The Bon-Accord, Winnipeg, Canada. Educated at Haileybury College 1893-98 and the Royal Military College, Sandhurst. He was unmarried. Gazetted 2nd Lieutenant, Indian Cavalry in Jan 1900, promoted Lieutenant and Adjutant in Oct 1907, Captain 1909.

Wartime Service

Promoted to Major Sep 1915. He served 17 years’ service in the Indian Army and went to France with 1st Indian Cavalry Division from Ambala in Nov 1914.

Mentioned in Dispatches (London Gazette 4 Jan 1917) and was killed in action while leading his squadron at the Cambrai front.
