Born on 4 Oct 1896 in Sunderland, Durham son of Joseph Stanley and Agnes Gertrude Cowell and baptised on 11 Nov 1896 in Monk-Wearmouth, Durham and lived at Vane House, Seaham Harbour, Durham. Educated at Haileybury College 1910-15.
Wartime Service
Appointed Lieutenant on 12 Jan 1917 while employed on recruiting duties. He did not serve overseas but died while on service in Hamerton House Hospital, Durham.
