Born on 6 May 1887 in Dorman’s Land, East Grinstead, Surrey son of the Rev. Henry Marten and Dora Janet (Ram) Evill.
Educated at Haileybury College 1900-05 and King’s College, London (Dept. of Engineering).
He joined the Inns of Court O.T.C in 1910. Was Assistant Engineer on the Bombay and Baroda Railway in 1911. He was unmarried.
Wartime Service
He was gazetted 2nd Lieutenant Indian Army in Jan 1915. He served in East Africa 1915-18 and died at the Station Hospital, Meerut in India from a fever contracted while in Africa.
