Born on 2 Jun 1883 son of Robert Montagu and Philippa G. Brown of Edale, Sheffield.


Educated at Haileybury College 1897-1902. Husband of Constance M. Brown of "Kentons", Tilehurst Road, Reading.

Wartime Service

Formerly Private 1310 18th Royal Fusiliers, he entered France on 14 Nov 1915.


He then obtained a commission in Hertfordshire Regiment on 31 Jan 1916 and was killed by a shell in the trenches at Ypres.

Additional Information

Brother of Captain Archibald Dimoch Montagu Brown who was killed in action on 23 Oct 1916 and is also commemorated on these memorials.
