Born on 21 May 1895 in West Kensington, London son of Randolf Lucas and Clara Louise (Homfray) Cholmeley. Educated at Haileybury College 1909-12.

Wartime Service

Entered France on 5 Nov 1914. He was killed in action on the first day of the battle of the Somme while crossing no-man’s land in Mash Valley towards Ovillers la Boiselle. 8 Officers and 421 men were lost in this attack.
