Born on 4 Sep 1878 and baptised on 8 Sep 1878 in Ahmedabad, Bombay, India son of Lt. Col. Sir James Hayes-Sadler K.C.M.G., C.B. and Rite Annie Hayes-Sadler. Educated at the United Services College 1891-96. Commissioned 2nd Lieutenant Indian Army on 20 Jul 1898 and promoted to Lieutenant on 20 Oct 1900 and Captain on 20 Jul 1907. He married Eleanor Louisa Cornelia Tollemache on 5 Feb 1914 in St George’s Hanover Square, London.

Additional Information

United Services College, Westward Ho, Devon amalgamated with Imperial Service College in Windsor in 1912 and then moved to Haileybury College, Hertford Heath in 1942.
