Born in 1885 son of Charles Edward and Eva Priscilla Wodehouse, of Woolmers Park, Letty Green, Hertford.


He was living there in 1911 as an insurance inspector.

Wartime Service

Entered the Army as a private in the 18th Royal Fusiliers and then was commissioned in the Bedfordshires.


He arrived in the 5th battalion on 7 Oct 1915 at Gallipoli. They moved to Egypt on 29 Feb 1916. He was killed during shelling of the trenches outside Gaza.

Additional Information

Evelyn clearly has a connection to Letty Green, however it is not yet clear if he was living there when he enlisted.
