Born on 5 July 1892 in Hoddesdon to Walter and Mary Elizabeth Tyler (who later lived at The Laurels, Wormley, Herts).


On the 1911 Census he was living with his brother at The Laurels and working as an East India Merchants' Clerk.

Wartime Service

Joined as a Private of the 28th London Regiment, was commissioned to the 1st Norfolk Regiment as a Lieutenant and later promoted to Captain. Killed in action in France.
