Born in 1885, in Bengeo, to parents Henry and Harriet, he was one of five and in 1901 they were living at 28 Bengeo Street, Hertford, and his father was a bricklayer.


He married Florence Louisa Pearce at the end of 1910 or beginning of 1911, in Ware, and they were living with his parents at 28 Bengeo Street, Harry was employed as a cabinet maker.

Formerly 270948 Hertfordshire Regt. and 3141 Hertfordshire Yeomanry.


He is not recorded on CWGC database as he was discharged from the army on 13th July 1917, reason unknown, and that he died after discharge, this information along with the military information above comes from the army medal and award rolls and the army register of soldiers’ effects.

Additional Information

Harry’s death is registered in the last quarter of 1918 and this along with the fact he is not recorded by CWGC implies that it was unrelated to the war. Also, his medals were returned at a later date
