Royal Masonic School Memorial, Rickmansworth

Pre War

Born on 28 Sep 1885 in Maidenhead, Berkshire son of Robert John and Isabella Fanning. Educated at the Royal Masonic School 1896-1901 and then entered Stuckey’s Bank in Taunton. He married Rose Fanny Pine on 22 Jun 1916 and they lived at “Chestal”, Priory Avenue, Taunton.

Wartime Service

Enlisted in R.N.V.R in Jun 1916 and served on the Medea and the Magic. He was killed when his ship was damaged by a mine laid by German Submarine U.C.31 in Lough Swilly and he was buried at sea.
