Born on 2 Apr 1884 in Kensington, London son of General Georges Forbes Hogg C.B. (Indian Staff Corps) and Elizabeth Maria Chevalier (Purkis) Hogg. Educated at the United Services College 1897-1901 and the Royal Military College, Sandhurst. Gazetted 2nd Lieutenant Indian Army on 21 Jan 1903 and joined the 101st Indian Grenadiers on 18 Apr 1904. Promoted Lieutenant 21 Apr 1905 and Captain on 21 Jan 1912. He married Bridgett Eyre Lloyd on 28 Dec 1911 in the Cathedral at Allahabad, Utter Pradesh, India.

Wartime Service

He went to German East Africa with the Indian Expeditionary Force and was killed in action during the attack on Tanga.

Additional Information

United Services College, Westward Ho, Devon amalgamated with Imperial Service College in Windsor in 1912 and then moved to Haileybury College, Hertford Heath in 1942.
