Born on 27 Oct 1886 in U.S.A. son of William Derick and Alice Maud (Thirlwel) Hoste. Educated at Haileybury College 1901-03. He lived in Woodstock, Herefordshire. He married Norah Savage in 1920 in Taunton, Somerset and was a civil engineer.

Wartime Service

He retired from the Army, probably due to ill health and was in Pinewood Sanatarium in Wokingham in Mar 1918. He died in Ledbury, Herefordshire.
