Born on 21 Aug 1899 in Bermondsey, London and baptised on 12 Nov 1899 in Deptford, Kent son of Walter Hewitt and Louisa Jane Cooper later of Kent House, Beckenham, Kent. Educated at the Royal Masonic School 1910-14 he became an accounts clerk with Heinz.

Wartime Service

Enlisted on 20 Sep 1917 at Bromley, Kent and entered France in Apr 1918. He died of wounds in Wimereux Hospital, Boulogne.
