Born on 12 Jan 1891 in Englefield Green, Surrey son of H C and Edith Russell. Educated at Haileybury College 1905-07 and as a medical student at University College, London (MB BS 1920).

Wartime Service

He enlisted in the Royal Navy Volunteer Reserve on 8 Aug 1914 as a Surgeon Probationer and was appointed Surgeon Lieutenant on 14 Jan 1916. He survived the war, but died at Claxton House, in York. Died on service with the Royal Navy.
