Pre War
*1 Currently we have insufficient information to positively identify this soldier. The St Albans Cathedral Diocese records give his name as J Chamber, suggests a connection to Hertford and that he was a Private in the West Riding Regiment.
The man found with a similar names. and was killed, is Private 203077, J T Chambers in the Duke of Wellington's (West Riding Regiment), however so far no connection to Hertford or Hertfordshire has been established. There other men with similar names from this regiment who were discharged with a Silver War Badge, and may have subsequently died, however, again, so far no connection to Hertford or Hertfordshire has been established.
