Eustace Charles Gabriel was born in 1898 in Paddington, London to Charles Henry Lord, retired Major, and Margaret Mary Louisa (nee Scrope).


By the 1901 Census the family were living as boarders at the Beeches, Grove Hill Lane, Hemel Hempstead. On the 1911 Eustace was attending Downside School, Somerset.

Wartime Service

Eustace as a cadet was gazetted as 2nd Lieutenant in the Irish Guards on 1 Aug 1917 and went to France to join 1st Battalion.


He was killed in action on 8 May 1918.

Additional Information

War Gratuity of £5 and arrears of £63 17s 7d paid to his mother.
