Pre War

Born in Rickmansworth 19th October 1894. son of Albert and Elizabeth Russell of 96 Norfolk Road, Rickmansworth.

In the 1911 census he was living at 76 Fernleigh Street, Watford. 

His father Albert Edward was a furniture dealer. His mother Mary Elizabeth was 40. Albert was 15 and assisting in the business. He had a younger brother Horace William and a younger sister Ivy Elizabeth.

He enlisted on 1st September 1914.

Wartime Service

Embarked on RM Brigade (Deal Bn), 20/11/14 – 23/11/15 Mediterranean Expeditionary Force (Dardanelles), 28/4/15 - 8/9/15 sick from disease, 9/9/15-9/10/15 MEF then invalided to UK. 24/11/15 -1 8/2/16 Portsmouth Div. until his death on the 18 February 1916..

At the time of Albert's death his father was living at 96 Watford Road, Rickmansworth.
