Biography

Maurice Peacock was listed in the Absent Voter Records for Abbots Langley in Autumn 1918. He was initially identified from the Absent Voter Records and was not recorded elsewhere in the Abbots Langley Parish records. In the Absent Voter Records Maurice was listed serving with the Hertfordshire Yeomanry (Dragoons) and his address was given at 1 Nash Mills, Abbots Langley.

Maurice was born on 22nd December 1896 at Abbots Langley. He was one of six children born to John and Mary Peacock. In the 1901 Census the family lived at Nash Mills, where John was a Manager for a Paper Maker – presumably John Dickinson’s.

Maurice Peacock survived the War.
