Biography

Frederick Harris was one of nine children (four sons and five daughters) born to Charles and Emma Harris. Charles, a Boot Maker, lived at the High Street, Abbots Langley. Another of Charles’ sons was named Charles, and a third was called William. A Pension Record was found for William, confirming that he lived at the High Street, Abbots Langley.

Frederick was born in 1895 at Abbots Langley. At the time of the 1901 Census he was recorded living with the Harris family at the High Street, Abbots Langley. Frederick’s Census record for 1911 has not been traced. He was recorded for the first time in the Abbots Langley Parish Magazine Roll of Honour for the first time in August 1915, serving with the Royal Field Artillery, and he was listed each month for the remainder of the War.

It is presumed that Frederick Harris survived the War, as did his brothers Charles and William.
