Biography

Albert Hayes was mentioned in the Leavesden Parish Magazine in December 1915 where it was reported that he had enlisted with the Army Signals Corps

The Leavesden Parish Magazine had previously noted that a daughter, Ellen, had been born to Albert and his wife, Clara, and had been baptised on 6th January 1911. At that time the family lived at Marlin Square, Abbots Langley.

Albert Hayes was recorded in the 1901 Census, when he was a Boarder living at the home of Charles and Annie Hawkshaw at Breakspeare Road, Abbots Langley. At that time Albert was employed as an Attendant at the Leavesden Asylum. Another Attendant, Thomas Townsend also was a Boarder with the Hawkshaw family.

Albert Hayes survived the War.
