*1 This man appears as Arthur Helmer on the St Albans Town Hall and French Street memorials, however the man identified here appears as Algy Helmer in both the CWGC and SDITGW records and so far appears to be the only likely match. We have yet to prove a connection to St Albans for Algy, so a positive identification has yet to be proved,
