Wartime Service

He was given a commission in 3rd Battalion Seaforth Highlanders on 14 Aug 1914.

He went to France on attachment to 1st Battalion Gordon Highlanders in Nov 1914.

Died from septicaemia following wounds received 14/12/1914 near Wytschaete.  He died in London on 13th Feb 1915.

Biography

Geoffrey Craig Rose was the elder son of Charles Edward, Author and dramatist, and Mary Greer Rose ( nee Connell). He was educated at Ovingdean Hall, Brighton and Aldenham. He was given a commission from the OTC to 3rd Seaforth Highlanders on 14 Aug 1914 and went to France in November 1914 and where he was attached to the Gordon Highlanders.

On 13th Feb 1915 he died in London from wounds received on 14th Dec 1914  near Wytschaete, Flanders while gallantly leading his men into action.
