Son of Alfred and Annie (nee KENT) BABBS of Watford; husband of Mabel (nee GROSVENOR) BABBS of Barnes, London.
His parents married 17 July 1882 at All Saints, Newington, Surrey. Alfred died 1924 in Watford aged 71, and was buried 11 March in Vicarage Road Cemetery, Watford; Annie died 1935 in Watford aged 73, and was buried 14 October, also in Vicarage Road Cemetery.
Jesse was born 1886 in Dartford, Kent, and married 1914 in the Croydon district. He resided in Barnes. Mabel remarried 1946 in the Surrey North Eastern district to Walter Thomas Louis MACKETT, and died 22 January 1964 in Aylesbury, Bucks, aged 78.
He has an entry in the National Probate Calendar.
On the 1891 Census, aged 4 he lived in Sandridge, Herts, with his parents and two siblings. On the 1901 Census, a grocer’s assistant aged 14, he lived in Watford, with his parents and eight siblings. On the 1911 Census, a manager (provision store) aged 24, he was a boarder in Putney, London.
Wartime Service
He enlisted in Croydon, Surrey; was entitled to the Victory and British War medals, and was killed in action.

Unfortunately, Jesse’s Service Record appears to be one that did not survive the World War Two bombing.
