Son of Frederick and Kate Emily (nee MOSELEY) WELLS; husband of Clara ASHBERRY (formerly WELLS, nee GREEN) of Watford.

His parents married 1882 in the Chichester, Sussex, district.  Kate died 1930 in the Watford district aged 63.

Frederick was born 1890 in Wrotham, Kent [not Roatham, Sussex], and married 1914 in the Watford district; they had two children.  Clara remarried 1922 in the Watford district to Ernest W ASHBERRY, who died 1926 in the Watford district aged 31.  Clara married for the third time 1932 in the Watford district to Douglas V LESLIE; she died 1934 in the Watford district aged 42, and was buried 24 November in Vicarage Road Cemetery, Watford.

On the 1891 Census, aged 11 months he lived in Croxley Green, Herts, with his parents and three siblings.  On the 1901 Census, aged 10 he still lived in Croxley Green, with his parents and five siblings.  On the 1911 Census, a paper manufacturer aged 20, he still lived in Croxley Green, with his parents and three siblings.

Wartime Service

He enlisted in Watford; was entitled to the Victory and British War medals, and died of pneumonia.  

Additional Information

Unfortunately, Frederick’s Service Record appears to be one that did not survive the World War Two bombing.
