Son of George and Jessie Hooper.


Baptised 7 Aug 1892 at Radlett.


1901 Census, living at Railway Arms, Aldenham Road, Aldenham with parents and siblings.


Wartime Service

8 Dec 1915 joined the East Surrey Regiment at Watford. Later transferred to Army Service Corps as Driver T/386284.


During the latter part of his service sustained a GSW to left buttock.


8 Mar 1919 discharged. 6 Jul 1920 recalled for a medical review at Conduit Street, London and assessed wound healed, scarring, no damaged bones and a slight limp. 20% disabled

Additional Information

After the war he married Norah Sarah and had two children Leslie Albert Hooper, born 25 May 1927 and Irene P Hooper, born 25 Oct 1923. Between 1922 - 1930 lived at 41 School Lane, Bushey. In 1939 he was living at 53 School Lane, Bushey. and was working as Wholesale and Retailer Fruiterers and Greengrocer, pig keeper. He remained at 53 School Lane until his death in 1963. On probate he left £24,122 13s to family.
