Son of Robert Bertram and Ethel Ford.
His father, Robert Bertram Ford, was KIA 2 Jun 1916 near Mt. Sorrel, Belgium.
He was a professional serviceman enlisting on 1 Jan 1932. His home address was given as North Gate House, Camlet Way, Hadley Wood.
Wartime Service
During his service he qualified as a pilot and served aboard the carriers, Furious, Ark Royal and Argus.
At the time of his death he was a member of 755 Squadron, HMS Kestrel, a land based ship at Worthy Down. Died of multiple injuries sustained when a Lysander 3a in which he was an observer crash whilst on a test flight near Chivenor, Devon.
The only medal mentioned in his papers was the King George VI Coronation Medal.
He was buried at St Augustine Churchyard, Heanton Punchardon.
Additional Information
At probate his estate of £7324 13s 11d passed to his aunt Mabel Langer and Russell Latham, timber merchant. His home address was given as North Gate House, Camlet Way, Hadley Wood. Son of Robert Bertram Ford who was KIA in WW1
