Additional Information

The sisters' headstone bears the inscription:

IN AFFECTIONATE AND SYMPATHETIC MEMORY OF TWO SISTERS.
FRANCES MARY LOUISE BAMFORD AGED 26 YEARS AND
ELEANOR GRACE BAMFORD AGED 12 YEARS
WHOSE LIVES WERE SACRIFICED IN THE COURSE OF A ZEPPELIN RAID OVER THIS CHURCH AND VILLAGE ON SUNDAY 3RD OF SEPTEMBER 1916.
WE COMMEND THESE THY SERVANTS INTO THY HANDS AS INTO THE HANDS OF A FAITHFUL CREATOR AND MOST MERCIFUL SAVIOUR.
 THY KINGDOM COME,
 THY WILL BE DONE,
IN EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN.
THEY SHALL NOT HURT NOR DESTROY IN MY HOLY MOUNTAIN(*1) FOR THE EARTH SHALL BE FULL OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE LORD AS THE WATERS COVER THE SEA.
GRANT PEACE ON EARTH AND AFTER WE HAVE STRIVEN PEACE IN THE HEAVEN. ALSO OF FRANCES ANN BAMFORD

*1 it seems that a mistake was made in the engraving of 'Holy Mountain' and after correction is difficult to read. The above is the correction as taken from Isaiah 11:9.

Neither sister is recorded on the CWGC database.
