Biography

His Service Number was P/JX 231155. 


At the time of his death he was staying with Thomas M Gracie, another Naval rating, in a room at 43, Heathfield Ave, Hitchin. At 6.30am on the 7th September 1944. Gracie discovered that he was missing and went downstairs and found that he had gassed himself for no apparent reason. The Coroner's verdict was suicide due to coal gas poisoning whilst the balance of his mind was disturbed. 


He was buried in Hitchin Cemetery in Grave N. W. 41 0. 


His home was at 16, Twiss St. Princes Park, Liverpool.
