Biography

He was born in Norwich but before joining the army he had been employed by Mr Doughty at Ickleford Manor. He was resident in Hertfordshire when he joined up in 1940 and was given the Service Number 1100814. 


He died of dysentery in India and is buried in Plot 1, Row H, Grave 5 in the Ranchi War Cemetery which suggests that he may have served in Burma. Ranchi was a base and training station for the war in Burma. 


His home was at 62, Strathmore Ave, Hitchin and he was the son of Samuel and Katherine Ringwood and the husband of Gertrude A.E. Ringwood.
