*1 A 'T Dobbs' appears on the St Mary's Church Roll of Honour (Book), Hitchin. This was produced for 2014. The name does not appear on any other Hitchin memorial and we have been unable to find a likely candidate for this person under this name, or 'Dodds', in the CWGC, SDITGW, WW1 pension records, nor in any other general search of military records, and he does not seem to be related to Alfred Dobbs who does appear in some Hitchin Memorials. There is a Thomas George Dodds with a Walkern connection and who appears under that location but he does bot seem to have Hitchin connection.
We would welcome any information at all which who clarify the inclusion of this name in the St Mary's Roll of Honour or the existence of this man or woman or any connection of a man or woman with this name to Hitchin.
