We believe that this name should read 'Alfred Mabbitt'. This man has connections with Baldock and Walsworth - which is very close to Hitchin. He is recorded against both those locations and had now against Hitchin, because we assume him to be the Albert D Mabbitt on the St Mary's Church Roll of Honour (Book), Hitchin.
