Born in 29/3/1881 in Lemsford and enlisted on 1st May 1899 for 6 years and was serving in the 4th Beds regiment until 1906.


At various times he had the service numbers 4/7246, 63715 and 37775.


He was probably a reservist and called back when war was declared.

Wartime Service

He went overseas as Private arriving in France on 11 November 1914.

Additional Information

After the war it was recorded that he had served in the, Suffolks, 1st and 2nd  Bedfords (4/7246), Royal Defence Corps (63715), Norfolk (37775) and lived at Park Gate Lodge, Lemsford, Hatfield, Herts. and received a war pension of 6s a week from 13th February 1919 until 17 February 1920, which may be when he died.
