*1 C F Brown appears on the St Albans Citizens Memorial, but so far no man of this name has been identified with a connection to St Albans. However, a G F Brown has been identified with a connection to St Albans and he only appears on the does appear on the St Albans Town Hall (old) Memorial. It may be that the ‘C F’ on the former should read ‘G F’ – see George Frederinck Brown for his biography.
