Pre War

Victor Eugene De Soissons was born on 4th November 1924, in Chelsea, London, son of Pierre Amedee De Soissons believed to be a Colonel in the Boarder Regiment and Olive Ruth De Soissons (nee Holbeck). His parents were married on 28th April 1923, in Kensington, London.


Victor was Educated at Eton Collage, Eton, Bucks.


The 1939 Register records Victor aged 14, a boarder at Eton Collage, Durnford House, Eton, Bucks.

Wartime Service

Victor enlisted in 1943 as a Cabet Officer (Possible Service No. 2701385) Gazetted 2nd Lieutenant (Service No. 295061) to the Scots Guards on 1st October 1943, promoted Lieutenant on 1st April 1944.


Victor was Killed in Action on 10th April 1945, he is buried in Rheinberg War Cemetery, Kamp, Lintfort, Nord Rhein-Westfel, Germany. Grave Ref; 12. H. 14.
