Believed to be Walter Lee born in 1888 to William and Louise Lee, brother to Thomas H Lee.
On the 1891 Census the family of parents, Joseph (born 1884), Walter, Ethel M (born 1886), Ida E (born 1883), Elsie May (born 1884), and Beatrice were living at 1 Lea Place, Hackney.
On the 1901 Census the family of parents, Joseph (stonemason), Walter (gardener), Ida E, Beatrice, Thomas (born 1893), William (born 1895), Richard (born 1897), Stanley (born 1897), Leonard (born 1899), and Lilian (born 1901), were living at 110, Big Hill, Hackney.
Walter married Alice Matilda Wells on 23 Sep 1909. They had a son Walter Edward Francis born 27 May 1910.
On the 1911 Census Walter, a gardener, Alice and Walter Edward were living at 4, St Anns Road, Tottenham, Middx.
Wartime Service
Walter was enlisted as Private 235040 in the Notts & Derby (Sherwood Foresters) Regiment in 1916 and he went to France on 16 May 1917 arriving at Calais, 12 Infantry Base depot on 17 May was transferred to 5th Reserve Battalion Sherwood Foresters, he was posted to 1st Battalion on 5 Jun 1917.
On 30 Jul 1917 He was deployed to 211 Divisional Employment Company Labour Corps as Private 222431 at GHQ.

There is a memo asking for his date of which is quoted as 1 Aug 1917, there is no record on CWGC records or Service Record.
War Gratuity of £3 and arrears of £4 2s 4d was paid to his widow Alice.
