The 110th Anniversary of the Hertfordshire Regiment's 'Blackest Day’ St Julien 31st July 1917
Tour from 30th July to 1st August 2027
This is 2027 Tour and is currently ‘in planning’ and all details TBC, so we are inviting no commitment, expressions of interest at this stage, but sign up for news, details and costs as they emerge:
We intend to explore the Herts Regiment’s blackest day, ‘St Julien’ – 31/7/1917 when every Officer and 75% of ORs were killed, wounded or captured. The tour details as they currently stand:
- Fri 30th July to Sun 1st August 2027
- A two-night, three-day coach tour, staying in Ypres.
- Fully guided, we will walk the battlefield, explaining the battle and follow their progress.
- Visiting the Herts At War memorial to the Hertfordshire Regiment and that day.
- We will visit other relevant sites and less visited cemeteries relating to the Hertfordshires and that day.
